As we head towards another year, and another decade (already! it seems like only yesterday we were worrying about the millennium bug!) it provides a good opportunity to reflect and look forward both personally and at a business level. For Avallach, 2009 has been a significant year; the business name was registered in Western Australia, and we quickly moved on from offering "just" web hosting, providing small and micro businesses with fully managed solutions at prices most people still can’t believe.
For the past month or so, we’ve been putting in some work on "Express BizNiz" which will provide a simple yet powerful set of tools for any home/small business person; allowing the recording of customers, suppliers, invoices and a lightweight self-managed "Express Webz" module.
Some of the downsides to 2009 have included not quite getting the social media stuff right; the Avallach Technology fan page on Facebook varies from almost useful to outright spammy, and the Twitter account is a reflection of this. This blog has also been used solely for news updates, and that’s a key change that we want to make in 2010.
From next year onwards, this blog will aim to provide good, useful, content relating to small/home/micro business web sites, search engines and other topics of interest. In the usual Avallach way there will undoubtedly be some "opinion" stuff in there as well, opinions that might be a little different from the norm.
